I found the source of those gifs that have been floating around!
It’s not a movie, but a music video done by Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli back in ‘95 for the song “On Your Mark” by Chage and Aska.
whaaat. I remember this as a kid! The part with her flying holding onto the dude’s hand has been stuck in my head for years but I could never find the source. I was starting to think I was just imagining things. But here it isss! <33
